UAHA has voted to hold 10 and 12 U hockey tryouts in the middle of summer. The date is the first weekend of August once again and maybe during the week. For many reason this hurts our kids from getting a break from hockey if they choose too. This adds stress to kids and families. It also takes away from many family trips and summer plans for these families. Kids need a break from the ice if they want it. It is the wrong direction and it goes against the grain of USA hockey's goal. USA hockey wants kids to step away from the ice. This is a petition to move tryouts to May or June so the kids can relax and enjoy summer. UAHA is supposed to represent the people and this vote does not represent what the hockey community or USA hockey wants.
