I have spent my mornings dropping off packets at city hall and waiting for someone to listen to why our current waste management is failing us. The stories you are sharing in the comments about the overflowing bins in our local parks keep me fighting even when the silence from the mayors feels heavy.

I want nothing more than to have a can at my home for recycling pick up. Not only is recycling the only way to go, but serting up a facility here that processes the waste will create jobs. Good all around!
Recently moved from Phoenix AZ to Murfreesboro. Phoenix has a very effective recycling program that works well and even makes money. Look into their model for possible ideas.
We need an easier way to recycle! My co-workers produce much less trash for the landfill since we both RECYCLE and COMPOST. There are receptacles available, easy sorting and convenient pick-up. Why can't I have this at home? Should be just as easy as my trash pick-up...
I pay for private recycling and I’d love for my neighbors to get into the habit as well, which they would with curbside pick up. As a county, we should be looking at opening a regional recycling center to make money off the trash that’s alreasy being sent here. We can’t keep sending it to China... they stopped taking it. Let’s be forward thinking and be a leader in this!
To encourage recycling, offer recyclers a discounted rate on city utilities to help cover fees to private recycling companies. It would discourage sending recyclables to the landfill.

can someone please provide who is backing this group? Is this backed or done on behalf of Republic Services? many of us are for recycling but with much of the recycling going to the landfill because of the current market this is relevant to know as part of the conversation.

It's a shame for a city as big as Mufreesboro to have one recycling facility with very limited hours. No wonder our dump is growing!
