10 point grading scale effective for ALL WCPSS highschool students

I want the 10 point scale because it would make a students time in school less stressful. And some private schools already use a 10 point scale and this is not fair to students on a 7 point scale.

All high school students, public and private schools should be on a 10 point scale starting with the class of 2016.

I think it is dumb that they spend money on buses and hours of bus rides for students to make schools evenly good or fair in Cary, but they won't apply the 10 pts scale to make it even for all the current students without spending a penny.

When and where is the public discussion on this topic? Since I first heard of this change, it has been extremely disturbing to me with respect to how this creates an bias in "perceived" grade point averages between the 7-point and 10-point scales. What admissions officer is even going to take the time to understand whether a candidate they are considering is graded on a 7-point or 10-point scale? These admissions officers have thousands of applicants. They certainly don't have the time to put in the added effort to screen applicants based upon what grading scale they came from, and they certainly don't have the expertise to "re-factor" the equivalency between a 3.7 GPA on a 7-point scale to a 3.7 on a 10-point scale. Heck, I can't even figure out a way to level set the difference between these GPAs, and I am a graduate level, electrical engineer from Geogia Tech! How in the hell is an admissions officer going to do this? Bottom line is once again, the SAT/ACT will tell the whole story to the admissions officers. However, the 7-point GPA student will always get the shaft, because their GPA will be lower to another 10-point scale applicant, while the 10-point applicant may have actually had a lower grade than the 7-point applicant. I also do not buy into the premise that "the 10-point scale is a HARDER grading syste". Content load is set for courses. Teachers don't have the time to create separate tests and course loads based upon a 10-point or 7-point scale. They already have a hard enough time distinguishing course load between a "honors" and "non-honors" course.

Students should be graded on the same system for the same work, no matter what grade they are in.

We need a consistent scale for all high school students, not a system that grades them differently.

For students bordering 93, getting a B is aweful. There is a difference between 100 and 94 is not shown in the current system.

Be consistent across the grades and state.

It is not fair that upper class men have the 7 point grading system while upper class men at other schools go by the 10 point gradding scale

The 7 pt system is putting our students at a disadvantage when applying for college. And to be fair, it should be changed immediately for all students.

I found out that Powerbase does store numerical and letter grade for this and last year. So, current freshman and sophomores could have four years of numbers and letters on their final HS transcript. So our request could be accomplished. For this year's Juniors, their freshman numbers and grades are still in NC Wise system. So even if their numbers can not be transferred over and it is not perfect, who cares if their English I course and frosh courses show letters, it is better than what they have now to show numbers and grades wherever possible. Also, I have been hearing that many LEA/Local Education Agencies/ other counties (like Durham and New Hanover, etc) already show both letters and grades.
