I think all high school students should get the 10 point grading scale, it's great they are doing it for riding freshmen, but what about the other high schoolers?

The State Board recently approved the ten pont scale for rising freshman next year. Great that they recognize that a NC student's 84 being translated to a "C" or 2.0 was a competitive disadvantege to most other out of state college/students. BUT why not for all current high school students?
Ideally, I would like to see all current high school grades be redone on the 10 point scale, but the numerical data might not be stored somewhere. (We all remember the difficult transition to Powerbase.)
If the current HS students are not approved by Policy to go to 10 point scale going forward (as it might mess with class rank) then, at least ALL report cards and transcripts going forward should show numerical values (and grades.) This would allow a college to see the grade is indeed an 84 and they can recalculate GPA as desired.

Please change this petition from WCPSS to ALL of NC high schools. We are all in agreement with this.

I agree with Lori Scaldara - make this for all of NC. And I also agree that if they can't change it for all students, then show the number grade, not the letter grade.

We are the only county, in the only state, in the only country that is on a 7 point grading scale.....and now only next years freshmen have it. They all get ipads to take hope at East Cary the year after I graduate and now the automatically get 1-point higher GPA then us. This is BS. That's a drop from a 4.0 getting in to any school you could ever want to go to, to a 3.0.......community collage here I come. Please share this and I will be getting up in front of my class tomorrow to have everyone sign this petition @GreenHopeHS
