I would go for a large wave pool so the current pool could be a user pool or a new Olympic pool.

We are turning away kids from our programs for lack of pool space/time. We need the space so all are included.

i coach synchronized swimming with the Okotoks Synchronized Swimming club. We are very crammed on space, and a new bigger pool would be amazing.

Another pool is an excellent idea for a fast growing young community like Okotoks. Currently, it is almost impossible to register your child in swim lessons unless you wake up early on registration day. The benefits of having a pool are enormous!

This town has a lot to offer, as does the Foothills Stingrays club. But the pool capacity is simply not there for all the different community needs for the pool.

Every resident of Okotoks and many residents of the MD of Foothills have used and currently use Okotoks’ pool facility, which I am sure we all agree is over capacity. We need a new pool facility not only for swimming sports, but for recreational purposes as well.
A new pool would provide swimming sport teams with extra space resulting in more children being able to join the teams. In consequence more space would be available for recreational purposes as well.
Every child should have the right to practice the sport they love without limitations due to space. As one of the towns with the youngest population in Canada, this should be a priority for the Town of Okotoks.

This initiative would benefit the community in a multitude of areas. User capacity for existing pool spaces is already pushing maxiums. The cultural, athletic and social benefits of this incentive are significant and positive.
