Our current pool is a great small town facility. But we aren't a small town anymore. Having a 50m pool not only gives our community access to better opportunities for our swimming youth, it also keep our kids closer to home. Families won't need to travel into Calgary to get access to top quality facilities. Our new pool would also attract business to Okotoks. It's win win.

The more youth who get involved in swimming, the better chance they will swim in the future to maintain their health. A 50m pool will not only a necessity for competitive training and meets, it will also provide additional space for aquatic classes and recreational swimming while the 50m lanes are not all in use. This will allow more youth to get involved in the aquatic sports.

The M.D. of Foothills and Town of Okotoks have been progressive with the development of recreational infrastructure but still have not kept pace with the rapid growth. Athletics is a key component to keeping our youth active and mentally engaged setting them up for success in the future. This additional pool should be considered and approved into the next phase of development.

Okotoks and area have experienced unprecedented growth over the past decade and is predominantly populated by young families. There are extreme pressures on the local recreation facilities from both user groups and leisure users. With the current pace of development a 50 m x 10 lane pool potentially built within a multi-use facility is a requirement that should be considered immediately.

10 lane pool and fun pool are desperately needed in Okotoks area! Swimming is a life skill not just a sport! We need to offer more water options for this communitity!

We need a 10 lane 50 meter pool in Okotoks. The Rec Centre is so over crowded - swimmers are swimming on top of eachother, the swimmers are limited to space and difficult time spots. People are having extreme difficulties getting their children into swim lessons. Many people from calgary are enroll g thier kids at the okotoks Red Centre. We so need another pool. I strongly support a new pool being built.
