Taking away the tram line to alleviate traffic is the opposite of what we should be doing. Pedestrianize the road from Admiralty to Central. Commuters can take tram, MTR and bus on the flyover.

If Central "Tram Road" is cancelled, there are only Western Market<>Kennedy Town and Admiralty<>Eastern District+Happy Valley+CWB. And tram is the victim of traffic jams, the cause comes from private cars and trucks which block the road. We should not cancel it as it is a historical, cheap, convenient transport. Gentle breeze on the way makes you feel comfortable. As Sit Kwok Keung said, "If you think trams are historical, you should go to the museum." This is extremely wrong because many places in our planet has "tram only road". Why not we set up the "tram only road"? What the hell should we cancel trams!?
Trams should be expanded to include a loop via Star Ferry pier. This would then go some way to alleviating the long walking distance from Central. Also, how about some policing to prosecute the owners of vehicles idling in Queens Road Central? It seems that the timings of the pedestrian crossing signals at the D'Aguilar St/Queens Road Central junction are always being adjusted to extend the green period for cars - the waiting time for pedestrians is beyond the tolerance threshold now, so a lot of pedestrians ignore the lights; some transparency required from the TD here.

Trams have become part of our daily lives in Hong Kong. It's packed and busy most of the time. It's cheap.

Tram represents HK! and it is the cheapest transport to most places in hk island.

本人住在跑馬地，每日由家前往中環或銅鑼灣。 來往中環，巴士需時30 - 50分(連候車)，費用$3.4，電車則需30分，費用$2.3。 電車空氣流通，除了下雨天，我寧願搭電車而非巴士，坐巴士多數超凍，有時就太焗，有人傷風咳，打噴嚏，就無處可逃。 千萬不能取消電車服務 。
