Sign up to support the Free Press Fair Fuel Fight, if you want to see companies lower the cost of petrol and diesel in Bridlington. Every week in the paper we have shown that petrol in nearby towns and cities, such as York, Hull, Scarborough, Beverley and Hornsea, is up to 6p per litre cheaper than Bridlington. The editor of the Bridlington Free Press, Nick Procter, has written to bosses at the three petrol stations in Bridlington - Tesco, Morrisons and Esso - in a bid to persuade them to bring down the price of fuel in our town. The campaign has already won the backing of East Yorkshire MP Greg Knight and a host of businesses and residents.
The volume of support for this campaign has reached a level that warrants direct engagement with the fuel retailers. I am currently finalizing the formal follow-up letter to the management teams at Tesco, Morrisons, and Esso to present our collective position. We are moving from public outreach to a phase of direct negotiation.

Keep up the pressure on them. Tesco and Morrisons should be ashamed of themselves charging us so much more than the next town over.

Why do we always pay more than everyone else? It is unfair.

Sick of filling up in Bridlington. I try to hold out until I go to Beverley just to save a few quid. Please lower these prices.
