I am a doctor working in Maldives for more then 6 years and one of the afectee who suffered from decreased remittance by HBL Bank in Maldives to Pakistan. I wish we can increase it so we can save some amount of our hard earned money losing to the black market selling Dollar for outrageous rates and beyond the standard 15.4 MVR per dollar set by MMA.

We respectfully request an increase in the current remittance limit, as the existing restriction is resulting in avoidable financial loss. Due to the limited allowance, we are compelled to convert Maldivian Rufiyaa (MVR) into foreign currency through alternative channels at significantly higher exchange rates. This practice leads to an unnecessary depletion of our hard-earned income.
An upward revision of the remittance limit would greatly alleviate this burden, facilitate transactions through

We, the undersigned Pakistani expatriates working in the Maldives, respectfully request a practical solution to enable us to send our salaries to Pakistan through official banking channels.
Although the official exchange rate is approximately MVR 15.42 per US Dollar, expatriates are generally unable to purchase US Dollars from local banks. As a result, we are forced to buy Dollars from the parallel market at much higher rates (currently around MVR 21 per USD), causing significant financial loss
