Dr. Chatmon was a main contributor in helping our neurodivergent son acclimate to Lab School. She is student-facing everyday and plays a vital role in how our children communicate, resolve conflict, and regulate their emotions!
We faced several incidents with a child in her classroom. She provided unwavering support to the child, demonstrating her commitment to helping our little one thrive. Through these challenges, she has shown remarkable dedication and resilience in nurturing our child's growth.
What a tremendous loss for our community. Dr. Chatmon brought such genuine love and care for and interest in our children. The wisdom and rigor she brought to her position was such a gift. She will be deeply missed by our family.
She is one of our most fearless and warm leaders. My family is grateful for her contributions throughout our journey at lab school.

SEL is critically important in elementary school. Academics alone will not turn students into excellent citizens, teammates and leaders. Lab School should be pressing their advantage in SEL (communicating program effectiveness and exporting to other schools), not dialing back their commitment.
