Writing studies is an international discipline, that extends well beyond the “teaching of English.” NCTE’s communication and decision making processes that resulted in the de-chartering of CCCC and its post hoc (lip service?) efforts to explore alternatives for supporting writing studies further mark the organization as a poor fit for the discipline’s work and scholars.
