My parents are Rockingham County natives. Growing up in Cary, I visited this area quite often and thought that it would be nice to live here when I got older- the appreciation of nature and the slower pace of living.
In the next 10 years , I will finally have the opportunity to make Rockingham County my place of retirement. Cary follows a similar 2040 plan, but our council has already let developers take over. It only takes ONE approval to negatively change your future!

This county will not be able to support this project with fire, rescue or police needed with this size population explosion. This county (the taxable residents) cannot pay to make it happen fairly or equitably.
Until this county can afford to have enough fire, rescue and police presence needed, this county should not even consider such a project.

We are already seeing a massive shift in traffic along gold hill. The mornings at school dropoff coming from sardish church rd are terrible now, adding more traffic will be insane. Any accomodations that will be made for the increase will cause more problems short term during construction of new roads as a result. 220 is already like jumping in the middle of a race at talledaga. Something has to be done. If we all wanted to live in the city we would have moved there first. NO TY

We left Guilford county last year to escape the insane taxes, traffic, noise and crime. Look at Greensboro today, just one day after police and criminals exchanged gunfire in the most popular area of downtown during daylight hours. Do we want that creeping into quiet Rockingham county? Do we want our taxes raised so developers can profit from our hard earned money? The answer is NO. No massive high density developments. No data centers.

The 2040 plan designated this land for agriculture for the next 25 years and commisioners should not be allowed to break this. The schools wont be able to absorb the children in that many homes and they're already overcrowded. It should also stay at 1 house per acre not 4 per acre. This is for money only not for the people!

Too much traffic, lacking infrastructure. This would put an unsafe strain on the fire police and education resources in this area. Additionally, the streets around this neighborhood would be completely overrun by the number of vehicles this would bring in.

I’m all for growth of the community. However, D.R. Horton homes are some of the worst built homes out there. They throw them up cheap and pack them in like sardines. This area deserves much more than that. This area needs a stronger infrastructure to support more people. The schools in the area are not built for such a huge influx in students. As a former teacher, this type of growth without proper planning will drown the schools and teachers. Students will be the ones to suffer the most from.

I live in Stokesdale and I have seen what is happening here. I lived in Madison for 10 years and certainly do not want the over population to happen there. I understand but the infrastructure is very inadequate for such fast growth. Plus we love the country & that is why I still live here. Was in Greensboro 10 years and could not wait to move home to the farm. Thank you!
