Because I’ve been a small business owner in this community for over 33 years, I’ve employed many people through the years, have grown many Hairstylists who have made careers for themselves. This BPOL tax will be detrimental to my business. Since Covid, the bottom line has decreased. I don’t understand how you can just slap this on the small businesses that do under $2 million worth of business. cash only businesses how are you gonna Audit them Have you looked into all of the home businesses?

I am writing to you not only as a Stafford County resident, but also as a local business owner who is extremely concerned about the possibility of Stafford County implementing a Business, Professional and Occupational License (BPOL) tax.
I strongly oppose the implementation of a BPOL tax in Stafford County.
Residents and small-business owners are already facing an increasing tax burden. Property values in Stafford County.

As a small business owner and 20 year Stafford resident, this tax will be impactful and NOT in a good way. Our economic development office is working very hard to bring businesses to Stafford, develop a workforce that lives and spends their money in the county and create a thriving environment for new revenue streams. Over taxing the businesses who are building those revenue streams will not yield the results the county is looking for. It will be detrimental to growth and development.

My wife has a business in Stafford. We've been residents since 2002. FXBG and Woodbridge get more businesses and better service than Stafford. We don't even have a movie theater! Taxes are already too high...were is this money going! No additional taxes.

We are pay taxes higher than most of Northern VA without getting any of the infrastructure or amenities that they have. Stop making it cost more to do business because all you do it make it more expensive for residents and drive money out of the county

It is unbelievable that Stafford County should overtax its residents without responsible fiscal accountability. Why does this county carry the burden to paid the relief taxes for the highest Disabled Veteran population in the State? I fully support the DV Community, but this should be a shared-State responsibility, not just a County’s burden. Add the increasing Real Estate taxes on arbitrary home values is unconscionable. BOS - fund and manage the essential Services. Quit unnecessary spending.
