Small businesses are taxed enough

I own a business in Stafford County and it’s already too expensive. Adding this is even worse. There’s no way I would recommend fellow business owners in other counties to open a location here if this passes.

Our taxes are going to force us out of our homes already.

We need actual small business investment here. This will make our town a giant strip mall full of chain stores and data centers.

This is the direct result of kicking the can down the road on capital plans and infrastructure. While these needs are real, the county must prioritize alternative commercial revenues—like incoming data center equipment taxes—rather than penalizing small businesses on gross receipts. If the Board pushes this through, taxpayers deserve full transparency and strict accountability to ensure every dollar directly fixes our roads, infrastructure, and schools.

I am a small business owner and this will definitely hurt my company and ultimately my customers.

Each county should install measures to ATTRACT businesses. Continually raising taxes REPELS them. If we had more business owners in political positions, perhaps we could reverse this continual trend to raise taxes and spend within our means. Wishful thinking!!

As a small business owner that has the benefit and flexibility of being able to freely relocate, in addition to the extreme surge of property taxes, this additional tax will leave no option and directly cause my business, and family, to sell and leave Stafford County.

Prices for small businesses will have to go up and many businesses will close or lose what little clientele they have.

STOP with all the extra taxes. You are giving tax breaks to these large companies and data centers and running the small businesses into the ground. How about curtailing spending instead of just generating money?

State and Government officials need to be reminded who they work for! I live in Spotsylvania but I work in Stafford, and prefer to support small business work ethics and their better customer service standards!

Stafford County needs to figure out the budget issue without adding more taxes to the residents or businesses. Time to clean house in Stafford. New BOS and Planning.
