We pay too much now! Also who is looking out for the poor and people with a monthly income. Can barely buy food so can't afford to go out and eat etc.

As a former (retired) County business owner, one of the few advantages here was no BPOL tax. As a lifelong South Stafford resident we often must go outside of Stafford to find shopping variety. The BPOL can only make this worse.

I am a small business owner nearing my third year in business. In three years I have not paid myself and have not yet reached sustained profitability. A tax on gross profits makes no sense at all to me and is a threat to the continued existence of my business. Unfortunately, I am out of town on business and will not be able to attend the meeting on 9/15 but my vote would be to oppose this tax as its potential impact could end my business in Stafford County.

The BOS need to listen to their constituents who elected them and the overwhelming response from the community has been VOTE NO. Stafford and it’s residents do not need another tax. This new tax will ultimately be passed on to the consumer. If costs keep going up consumers will not be able to afford to buy things or dine out and will ultimately pull back on purchases which mean less revenue for the county. How much money do you project this new tax to bring in? What will the revenue be spent on?

No more taxes…do not create/establish the BPOL. Businesses will only pass those costs on to the consumer. DO NOT add two more employees to our county payroll. The BOS need to do a better job of finding ways to reduce expenses rather than trying to put this tax on the back of all its residents. Do the right thing and VOTE NO.

Why a new tax now? We are taxed enough. When will data center tax revenue start? What are the estimates for data center revenue? What is the county's plan for revenue from data centers? Why more money? Where are the “new” tax monies going?

I'm already being taxed out of my home. Local Real Estate, Personal Property and water/sewer are ridiculous. After local issues residence still have state and federal hurdles!
