This is not only an important ecosystem within the 2 huge housing developments, it is an escape from the stress of daily life for a lot of people. A quiet trail meandering through the forest with a babbling creek and many birds, animals, wildlife etc, how can you take that away for 30 townhomes??? When hundreds of homes are already being built right next door??? We don't need or want these homes here. We NEED to keep this area undeveloped

I have enjoyed this trail for over 10 years. Walking it I have come across deer, racoons, numerous birds and even a coyote. A small plot of land compared to the new subdivision up the hill, I don't see the reasoning. The effects this will have on the creek won't be able to be reversed.

We recently discovered this amazing trail and my small child absolutely loves it. These cities keep taking away the natural spaces for both adults and the next generation to escape to. We don't want more development, we want (& desperately need) nature in our communities.

Once this green space is gone it cannot be retrieved. With all the concerns regarding water supply, this does not seem to be the right place for this development. In addition to its importance as a recharge wetland, the environmental and traffic concerns signal problems well into the future.

We need to preserve this beautiful space. Continuing to build will have us looking like Hamilton or Toronto. Polluted. The trees cool and filter our air. The waterflow preserves wildlife. Contaminated water will kill all of these benefits.

I strongly support protecting the Devil’s Creek Watershed, trail, and surrounding green space. This area provides important wildlife habitat and a valued place for residents to enjoy nature. Housing is needed, but it should not come at the cost of an irreplaceable natural area.

This is designated green space and should remain green space. It should not be considered "able to be turned into housing". It provides an outdoor trail for the citizens of Cambridge who walk this trail daily. It is also an important part of the watershed from Devils Creek to filter water to the Middleton Street pumping station. Instead, let's take some more land that is zoned Industrial and convert that into a housing tract like the Big Box Stores area on Pinebush. Green space stays GREEN!

I have been bird watching in this Environmentally Significant Area for over 10 years and have seen a number of notable species. It forms a corridor with natural areas along the Grand River and thus is able to support a good diversity of species throughout the year and especially during spring and fall migration periods. A reduction of this ESA's size and degradation caused by moving the trail, would create significant negative impacts.
