Simply because we the people need it to stay for our own safety, 👍

This is just so sad My late husband served here for many years before retiring in 2006.

I'm a firefighter and know that this closure will cost lives.

Firefighters do an amazing job. Closing stations will put more lives at risk, not only with fires but all the other circumstances they are asked to assist with, from RTAs, to sea/river rescues, recovering bodies from rivers to name a couple. New housing areas are getting built all the time, making the areas the fire service have to cover bigger just now, without stretching it even further by closing stations!

Lived in the area most of my life and this station quickly responded to a fire in my house.

When I had a fire in my flat two months ago fire fighters from Yorkhill turned out to deal with it. It is the closest fire station to a part of Glasgow that has an enormous number of flats and a high population density, where fires are potentially devastating to more lives than in other, less densely populated parts of the city. With the increasing number of properties there is a need for more essential services like this, not fewer. Shame on the Scottish Government for even considering this.

There have been so many new houses built in the area, that there should be a fire station exactly where Yorkhill is just now in the centre of these new builds. It seems irresponsible to close down such a necessary facility.

It's one of the closest fire stations to where I live which is a multi storey block, I think closing this fire station would be a huge risk to our local community.

Response time is vital in this area where residents of all ages with different abilities live in many high rise buildings.

Lived in Yorkhill for years & this was a busy station so obviously needed.

In an area with so many high rises, and so many more being built - and some historic buildings, reducing capacity and local knowledge is a very strange decision. Lives will be lost as a result of this closure, predominantly among the most vulnerable.

The fire station plays an important role in our community here at Glasgow Harbour

This fire station is very important resource for the area, it should remain open and active.

Vital to keep the west end of Glasgow within a safe response time. The closure of this station could see a fire appliance take double the time to reach the incident

I am signing becuase there is so many student accomodations around this fire statruin as well as a multi purpose venue. Closing this station would be detrimental to the area

No closure of a blue light service

This is a heavily populated area that absolutely needs the fire station to remain. The current inability to maintain needed services screams incompetence.
