The mature trees along this stretch of the coast are an important and irreplaceable part of its landscape and habitat. They have taken generations to reach this scale, and preserving them is an act of essential stewardship for generations to come.
I support improving passenger rail in California, but it should be done without sacrificing this extraordinary canopy.
Let’s preserve the natural resources we have. Removing trees that serve an ecological purpose and provide enjoyment for residents and public alike, makes no sense whatsoever.

The trees are home to countless raptors and monarchs during the year
Nesting season is already horribly affected and no doubt since trees should only be trimmed in January February March and April will destroy the ecosystem and nests. There are countless migrating birds that frequent this stretch and once again be destroyed
For what? Another greed filled project as this will NOT increase riders, it will only destroy habitat and increase air pollution for the owners on Padaro Lane

The trees that line the road are that of a nature reserve that is enjoyed by many including an abundance of wildlife. Please do not remove the tree!

This project is an abomination to the community and environment. Property values along this route will decline and the disruption to life via noise and air pollution is greatly accelerated for minimal return. There is simply not the increase in ridership, as stated. This project should be abandoned!!

When we lived on Padaro Lane the magic and the e charm of the street was the tall trees and the shade canopy they provided.

Considering that this road is being used by bicyclists and pedestrians, the planned siding is simply too close to the road and therefore hazardous.

These trees serve as important habitat for birds, insects (monarch butterflies) as well as providing shade and noise buffer for recreational users and homeowners. There has to be a better place for the siding project. Taking these trees out would be a horrible mistake.

The bird filled canopy protects us from the sun and from the freeway noise. And... it's beautiful! So many bikers/walkers/joggers flock to Padaro because of it.
