The BIA is essential for our community, and the sense of fellowship within. If the counsel is to take over the BIA, when they already state they have so much work on their hands, I fear the fellowship and community will suffer.
I support the BIA, and the current way of running things. Shame on council for trying to pull this off.

Markets like this help so many people with small businesses. And it helps bring in people to the town. So many locals as well as visitors to the area.

It is unimaginable that such a wonderful series of community events would be jeopardized by a council who clearly does not have the Town of Stirling’s best interest at heart. People come from all around this area for these events, not just Stirling residents. Most communities are looking to expand community involvement and events so what on earth are you thinking?!?

Especially in small communities, BIAs work collaboratively with local governing bodies to bring voices together who may not otherwise be heard & plan and execute exciting events that municipal resources might otherwise not allow for, all on a shoestring budget. BIAs are a building block of community. It's alarming to hear there is consideration of dissolving the BIA. Please reconsider. Give the opportunity to hear council's concerns and address them with innovative, creative solutions!

The BIA is important to Stirling . The unique events it supports makes Stirling a special little village . The markets attract many people and many generations. I think it would be a very negative result to dissolve it .

The BIA does so much to make Stirling Rawdon a vibrant place. They build community through their events and outreach. I can’t imagine Stirling Rawdon flourishing without their tireless efforts and am disappointed that council is behaving in such an unscrupulous and shortsighted manner.

I enjoy the vendors and events at the market. No one on council has given any reasonable explanation as to why dissolving the BIA would be beneficial, IMPO. Does this have to do with the upcoming municipal election; is someone else trying to sneak into the space?

As a relatively new business owner in the heart of downtown I joined the BIA out of a sense of duty to support & contribute to our community. As an active member for the past two plus years I can attest to the enormous amount of work we do to add to the social and economic wellbeing of Stirling, as well as the ways we support of beautification of the “Village”. Support of what we do, how we do it, and challenges we are addressing is what we need from Town Council and the CAO.

Stirling-Rawdon produces and draws to itself some of the most original and hard-working people who create wonderful products and services that deserve to be spotlighted during the annual markets and special events organized by the BIA. Don't let the imagination deficit of a local council deprive future generations of the chance to gather in their community across the seasons to celebrate this region's history and all the people who work so hard to keep it functioning in contemporary times.
