This is not an appropriate place for a new town. It is prime agricultural land and an important habitat for wildlife as well as bordering a AONB and SSSIs. There are plenty of brownfield sites and numerous empty buildings around Taunton that need to be filled first

We need to protect our farm land for food security. We need to protect our environment for nature and for our children. There are numerous derelict buildings and vacant industrial areas that could be repurposed. Their is not the demand for the properties proposed in this area.

Is this a real need for more housing around Taunton or simply a means to reach targets set by central government. Will Taunton, surrounding areas and infrastructure be able to cope with this extra pressure as people commute to other towns and cities. The M5 is closed almost every day through accidents the proposed dueling of the A358 ( although not popular ) has been cancelled making the area between the M5 and A303 chaotic at times when people try to navigate around these problems.

I have watched enough green fields disappear in the area I grew up in. Plus the infrastructure in the Taunton area cannot cope.
