Scrap the idea of developing Blackdown Vale before its too late!!!!!

This is such an important area of countryside to save for the people of Taunton. The damage to wildlife and farming provision for the nation is unimaginable, to cover this area with concrete and tarmac, and undoubtedly artificial grass. The road infrastructure around Taunton does not cope as it is, with this part of the town significantly suffering already, with the only main routes totally congested at peak traffic times, which also have extended in duration due to the levels of traffic.

"And birds and trees and flowers without a name All sighed when lawless law's enclosure came ..." We need to speak for those without a human voice and prevent the loss of their homes and the HUGE LOSS to us that will be a result of developments such as these!

This is just one step too far. Musgrove A&E is bursting at the seams, doctors surgeries, schools, reservoirs, sewer systems roads need all to be updated before any new houses are built. The wildlife and natural spaces that will be destroyed is terrible. You are going to ruin this whole area and affect people’s quality of life even more, not just for Taunton but surrounding towns too.

This needs to stop. I live right next to the houses being built in Staplegrove. There will be no open spaces left at this rate. Not to mention the lack of infrastructure. Where are the new schools, hospital and GP practices for all these extra residents?!!

A development motivated by greed rather than need. Crown land should never have been sold as agricultural land for an absolute steal to developers. It’s not difficult to put 2+2 together 🙄

Such an important landscape for wildlife and farming. Part of the Blackdown Hills which have national protection and this should be stretched to Blackdown Vale. Nice developed it is lost forever. Brownfield sites should be developed rather than destroy the countryside.
