This is a devastating loss to the St. Peter’s community and the Pacifica community at large. Youth sports are so important to keep kids active and to learn so many important lessons. St. Peter’s basketball program was an opportunity to connect with the community and build pride within that community. So many programs have been lost over the years, I hope this program can be saved, and that it can be a start to rebuilding what was once a vibrant church community.

We need this program to continue. The kids and future generations will benefit from an incredible program like this one.

Youth sports keep kids off the streets, provides fun exercise, teamwork, and sometimes lifelong friendships.

Please bring basketball back to St. Peter’s! This program means so much to our kids and our community. It gives them a place to play, learn teamwork, build confidence and have fun with their friends. Programs like this are part of what makes Pacifica such a special place to raise our kids. Please listen to the families in our community and find a way to keep this program going. Our kids want to play, our families are ready to support it—let’s get them back on the court!

CYO basketball at SPP is a community treasure that brings together kids and families from different schools, and cultural backgrounds, and nurtures lifelong friendships and healthy recreation! How sad to choose to let go of a 70 year old network, of positive inclusion and solid foundation, at a time when our kids need more supportive guidance and access to healthy activities. What a shame.

When my daughter was about 9, the beautiful St Peter’s basketball program helped us afford her to play and her uniform! It was an amazing experience for her and I want that for all Pacifica kids!!!

My daughter and her teammates won it all in 2025. It’s been a great program for our you for 70 years. This is not ok.

It truly makes me sad that it has come to the point where this program has been taken away. Our kids need opportunities like this in our community. They deserve a place where they can stay active, build friendships, learn teamwork, and simply enjoy being kids. Please consider how much this program means to our children and families before taking something so important away from them.

This is a crucial program for the children of Pacifica. As a former coach, I’m devastated at the thought of St.Peter’s CYO going away!

Please do not let this program go away. It is an invaluable resource for our community. Thank you St. Peter’s for providing generations with the opportunity to learn and develop - we could not imagine what the kids would do without this!

Family involved with sports program A shame to see the kids get this taken away from them, along with a great mentoring group of coaches!

My kids and now my grandkids loved/love playing basketball at St. Peter’s. We as a family totally support continuing the program for the benefit of our children and children coming to St. Peter’s in the future. Please don’t close it down!

My children and Grandchildren played CYO Basketball and my husband dedicated years to running and supporting this program and found wonderful people to continue what he and Sue Cook and Linda O’Brien started only to have the greedy Father Foley take the money the CYO program generated. He’s been after that money for years. He did the same thing with the Men’s Club money. Pacifica’s children need this program and we need to find a way to get it back and be able to keep the money separate.

This community needs CYO and St Peter’s has been a shining beacon of positive energy, growth and community for so many generations Whatever the cost or concerns there will be enough people to come to the aid and support of keeping the CYO alive and well

I played for St Peter’s when I was a kid, without I would not have the chance to participate in youth sports and who knows what I would have done in my spare time, kids need an outlet and this is a great one.

I spent 7 years as a team Mom for my two kids as they played in this program at St Peter’s. They were very valuable years for our kids as they learned sportsmanship, made friends and experienced the joy of being on teams and playing basketball. Now we support our two neighbor children and their friends as they have been playing in the program. I suggest that the leadership at St Peter’s reconsider this decision and not end the CYO Basketball program.
