So many other things in this community have been taken away from our kids. My daughter plays basketball and volleyball and volleyball was taken from her last season and now basketball. This ain’t fair and it shouldn’t depend on a families income for whether the kids can play sports or not. Club sports aren’t attainable to all families.

My children played with CYO and now my grandchildren will be joining. This program is important for the entire community as it gives a safe place where children can exercise as they play basketball. I believe the Catholic Church provides the space for basketball, although I’m really surprised they would discontinue such an important program because they care so much about children.

I grew up playing CYO sports for Good Shepherd Parish (Go Blazers!), and my daughter played basketball every year for St. Peter Parish (Go Celtics!). We loved being part of the program and enjoyed the games, teamwork, sportsmanship, and camaraderie. So many volunteers made the programs possible. There needs to be affordable sports options for families. Let them play!

This is horrible for the children and parents of the Parish! I can not believe that Father Foley can not work with the Coaches and Parents to find a solution! I pray that Father Foley finds the compassion to help the Children!

The children and Families of St Peter’s Parish are losing an important part of their life, to compete, laugh, learn, grow, and have fun. This has been an important part of our Parish for decades. Father Foley can find a way to continue this tradition, if he does indeed care!

Cyo basketball has been a mainstay for our children! It builds community relationships and everything in this town has been taken away for our children! All my older kids participated and my husband coached as well . This is a terrible situation for our community!
