While it does not directly affect me or my children, rushing decisions which affect all the children in our nation is detrimental. I think government should consider starting with class 1 and not spring it upon class 3

It is very critical for the Ministry of Transformational Education to ibe far more engaging with parents/guardians as the children/students belong to us and not an institution. The children are our charges and we bear responsibility for their future until they reach the appropriate age. More research and processes need to be examined and then piloted rather than saying this is what will happen.

It’s a good concept BUT I think it’s too rushed. In my opinion the ministry of education should start with the class 1 children and gradually work their way up.

The group project aspect needs to be tested first in earlier classes before final assessments are introduced in Class 3 and 4 for entry into secondary school.

We understand the need for change but this is too drastic a transformation with an unnecessarily aggressive timeline. The ministry should consider rescheduling this implementation for the incoming class 1s/ grade 3 students.

The changes which the Ministry of Education intend to implement negatively impacts the future of our children. The changes to be made are to be implemented without a relevant impact study. The MoE intends to implement changes without first taking into consideration the views of parents, teachers and other stakeholders. It has not properly articulated the curre t mischief and how the changes will benefit the children. To date there is no proper curriculum or pecimen papers .

Even if group projects are included, the marks should be for individual performance. Insufficient time and information have been provided for this transformation to positively affect children entering class 3 in September. Additional training of teachers, prior student preparation and guidance to parents are required to ensure that the first cohort of over 2500 students do not suffer through a process that is poorly defined, thoughtlessly implemented and unnecessarily rushed.

Time must be taken to plan any changes properly and ALL educators, parents and other concerned citizens must be included in the decision making process. To cancel the town hall meetings so that our input was cut short was a slap in the face. This is a democratic country not an autocratic one. Our voices matter!

This change is being implemented too hastily and I believe it will be a disservice to the students currently set to be a part of the pilot. Proper planning and implementation should take place with students now entering the junior school (class 1) so this initiative can be rolled out in a manner fair to all. I believe better consultation should take place with the teachers as well to ensure they are well equipped to handle the proposed changes.
