The East Africa Racket Sports Club is more than a facility — it’s where our pickleball community was built, court by court, tournament by tournament. Closing it doesn’t just take away a venue; it takes away the place where players learned the game, referees were trained, and a growing sport found its home in Tanzania. We’re asking for EARSC to be reopened so this community isn’t lost, and so the progress we’ve fought so hard to build can continue.

These courts are more than just sports facilities they are a place where people of all ages come together to stay active, build friendships, and strengthen our community. Across the city, people who had not played sport in years are playing again. Fathers / Mothers with Sons / daughters, Grandparents rallying with grandchildren. Pickleball and Padel tennis social, fast and full of laughter. The EARSC Club moved first and deserves to be recognised as the initiator of these sports in Tanzania. I say so with genuine admiration and I stand fully behind EARSC's initiative. Signing the petition as Family Member of Dar es Salaam Gymkhana Club & EARSC.

The EARSC club has taken us a long way and been a huge help to us players who represent our country internationally. I can say with certainty that before the EARSC club arrived at Gymkhana, there weren't as many tennis players as there are now; EARSC has energized the community and attracted many newcomers—people who come for pickleball and padel but see the tennis activity and decide to join in.

We have to undertake the true spirit of negotiation, mediation and compromise. The pickle and padel community means a lot to a lot of people. Gymkhana clearly needs membership and community in order to reignite it’s historical significance. Surely there’s a way that this can come together.

Earsc have brought so many players together. It’s been home to a thousand players! Gym Khana need to publicly state what their issue is with Earsc is, so that this issue may be resolved amicably.

EARC is not only one of the most happening and prominent destination for Pickleball and paddle tennis. I urge the Gymkhana club to consider our request to reinstate the Access for the public it was earlier.
