Driving at 30mph is lethal. Especially for huge high-powered SUVs. Electric cars are more environmentally friendly but heavy and quiet. Even more potential for fatal accidents

For the safety of all aminals and people...people drive far too fast without any care of consideration for anyone or anything else.

Less noise, less pollution, less anxiety about giving the kids their independence - what’s not to like?

Safety of pedestrians on tight streets is a must

The whole of Harborough Avenue has had many accidents over the 40 years I’ve lived here. It urgently needs speed bumps and a lower speed limit to make it safer for residents.

I commute by bicycle, and always have. With its often fast and poorly surfaced roads, Sheffield has always felt more intimidating than London. my partner used to cycle with me; she doesn’t feel able to in Sheffield. The evidence is clear and established. Our road is 30, despite having two schools - mad.

I’m a cyclist and the roads are dangerous for cyclists, children and pedestrians- 20 mph has reduced casualties in Wales and cars should not be allowed to dominate and pollute all our urban spaces

We live on a street that’s used as a rat run and because people coming up the hill are often delayed by oncoming traffic they then speed really fast along the flat top part of Hunter House Rd. It’s really dangerous and is a disaster waiting to happen

We need a mindset shift away from the motorist-centric status quo - the streets are for everyone. A 20mph speed limit helps to improve safety and makes alternative active options more appealing.

I think with the ever growing size, bonnet height and weight of modern cars the need for reduced speeds on our road is increasingly vital to protect other road users. It is of course right that people want to be as safe as possible in their car, but there has to be a balance for how that impacts on others. The speed reduction in Wales makes clear how much safer the roads are at lower speeds, for drivers, passengers and other road users.

Too many places in Sheffield mean waiting for traffic congestion to cross the road. A blanket 20mph limit would smooth this out
