I live on a bus route
The road is not straight and there is on street parking
Despite this, many cars do not respect even the 30mph limit
Children, elderly, pets and wildlife live around here
We too deserve to feel safe on our street with better air quality

I’m a driver and I have seen the safety and air quality benefits of wider 20mph limits in other cities.

I'm a cyclist in Burngreave and Pitsmoor. People regularly drive at 80mph on 30 mph streets and side streets. It's horrible.

20mph in urban areas is a sensible and cost effective policy. It will save lives and encourage more active travel.

I worry deeply about the safety of my children travelling to school on their own. Especially in the winter with so few safe crossing spaces. This needs to be implemented and enforced with speed cameras.

I have grandchildren in Sheffield. I walk Sheffield streets frequently. I want the speed limits reduced to save lives and injuries. Some drivers go way too fast, some are reckless. There needs to be a new fresh approach to the whole system. And for starters let's have a Sheffield car-free day - fill up the city centre and environs with stress-free people -see how the car drivers feel, the ones who never ever walk or cycle or use public transport!

Lower speed limits are absolutely crucial to making roads safer for all users. There's no good reason why main roads shouldn't be included.

I have found that the injuries I have sustained from being hit by drivers have been relatively mild because the speed the drivers were travelling at was low (around 20 mph). As a result of not owning a car and riding my bike everywhere, my exposure level to this hazardous event is high. I foresee my track record continuing and would like to opt for the low-speed version of future collisions.

Because more and more areas are being built upon making extra pedestrians on and near busy main roads

I am scared every time I cross a road because of my failing vision. reducing the speed limit to 20mph will have little impact on vehicular progress apart from those who treat roads as race tracks.

I think it will be a good idea to reduce road speeds to help save lives and reduce traffic. It has been proven to work in London and Edinburgh and I believe it can work in Sheffield too

Sheffield's roads are hostile to pedestrians and cyclists. 20mph limits help.
