My husband served on the Cowpens and was very proud of her & his time on her. He recently passed away. I'm positive he would have signed this petition. I'm doing for both of us. Keep the USS COWPENS alive!

As A veteran and a past member of the USS COWPENS CG-63. We need to keep a piece of history a live since the original USS Cowpens CVL-63 served in WWII we need another ship named after that Revolutionary battle and to honor those that served on both ships named after that battle and the town that celebrates both ships named after the town and battle

In honor of my cousin who served on the 2nd USS Cowpens. On a trip across the country together I was able to witness the blessings of the town of Cowpens, SC open up its doors for my cousin to see the history he was part of making. The bond between the town and their ships is remarkable. Please continue the tradition so more servicemen can have this experience.

I served on the last USS COWPENS and had the absolute honor of attending the ciity of COWPENS celebration, the connection the community has to this ship and its Sailors is like nothing I have ever seen in my 30 years of service. It is a tradition and a relationship that this community deserves and it show the Sailors just how important their service is.

Because the town of Cowpens needs a ship to follow the last two ships who are both no longer in the fleet so the tradition will end. My ship, CG-63, launched missiles on the same day as the batttle that was fought in 1781. That should be enough to continue the tradition.

I have had the honor and privilege of preparing, planning, and supporting the Cowpens Mighty Moo ships for over 34 years. Our community would most certainly proudly proclaim that the historic Battle of Cowpens did indeed provide a turning point in our country’s founding history. Please join us in securing an unprecedented 3rd USN ship named for the battle fought & won so diligently in 1781, as well as service from both USS COWPENS CVL-25 & CG-63.

The name COWPENS, a critical revolutionary war battle, a national park, a City, and the name of 2 previous US NAVY Combatants, should forever remain a part of the NAVY. Not to mention the amount of involvement the city of COWPENS has maintained with both USS COWPENS ships to include correspondence, a museum and an annual parade. A rich history that should be continued in the naming of another US NAVY Combatant as soon as possible!!
