My father was a plank owner on the WW-II Cowpens. We’ve been to many a reunions in Cowpens SC. The town has an amazing festival every year on Father’s Day weekend. My father was on the black gang, worked in the engine room. Not a good place to be!

As a plankowner of the USS Cowpens (CG-63), I helped bring that ship to life, but its spirit truly lives in Cowpens, South Carolina. The town welcomes crewmembers to celebrate the 2 Navy ships named in their honor. In all my service, I have never met a group of people more fiercely patriotic or dedicated to supporting our military.
Another USS Cowpens honors both a pivotal Revolutionary War victory and the most patriotic community in America. The citizens of Cowpens.
