I'm a solo cruising sailor on a small budget. Starlink has been transformative for my safety, but I won't be able to afford it under the new rules. I was an early adopter and am on my third dish since 2022. I feel disappointed in starlink for such a radical change in policy after I have invested in all the hardware and have gotten really reliant on it. There is no starlink where I cruise in french Polynesia, I won't be able to sign up for a local plan. I'm very much at a loss on what to do.

I live full time on my sailboat as I circumnavigate the globe. I have relied on unlimited roaming at $175/mo plus $2/GB offshore. I have a family on board and we consistently use 1TB of data per month. SL new plan does not offer a financially sustainable solution for our WiFi needs. Would love them to consider a maritime plan for residential sailboats.
