This is a short sighted decision that is putting cruisers lives at risk. Honestly I’m disappointed given the mission of Starlink and Elon himself to make the world a better, safer place. I hope you consider that you’ve impacted peoples lives in a negative way by making it cost prohibitive to keep on top of weather and educate their children.

Starlink has helped make it possible for more people to explore the world and advance boating safety. This new rule is a step backwards, putting Starlink out of reach for many sailors, which is seemingly counter to Starlink’s mission of closing the digital divide.

Every year United States boaters travel to the Bahamas. Starlink has become the communication tool of choice. It is more reliable and SIM cards and Sat Phones. Many of those boaters stay beyond thirty’s days. I did earlier this year. Starlink is forcing there boaters to choose between unreliable alternatives, or face an unreasonable price increase to keep their Starlink service. The problems caused by this plan change were either not considered or ignored by Starlink. Please correct this.
