I bought starlink equipment specifically for my sailboat, as I intend to cruise in the Caribbean and Latin America. There are several island (countries) that are on my itnerar and starlink wouldn't be as useful with the upcoming changes. The beauty of the current plans is that they are location agnostic, so if they put a restriction on where the service can be used, it makes it useless.

Im on a circumnavigating sailboat and the roam plan will be difficult to organize while a global plan would be too expensive for a single user

Sailors that sail from port to port do not have the ability to return to home port in a 30 day time span. Starlink is critical for navigation and emergency communication.

This recent change has eliminated a cost effective way for occasional use overseas and substituted with a complex and expensive subscription. No reason has been offered, except greed.

Starlink is not a luxury for cruising sailors—it is an essential safety tool.
Those of us who live aboard and cross oceans rely on Starlink to download weather forecasts, routing information, navigational updates, and to communicate in emergencies. Modern offshore navigation depends on reliable connectivity.
The new roaming restrictions make the service impractical for long-term cruisers, whose homes naturally move from country to country. These changes put at risk not only our ability to work

Because I’m a long term cruiser that relies heavily on Starlink for my livelihood. I would either lose my job and/or sell the boat if Starlink doesn’t come up with a reasonable solution.

We have a dream to sail the world. So far we have sailed to 17 countries. Starlink allows us to safely travel to many countries while staying connected to our family, friends, and the world.

As a sailboat cruser that trades internationally. This change will make starlink next too useless after the time limit. We cross too many borders, too quickly, and spend too long away from our home zone.
We love the product. Run currently two and heading towards 4 units but the new changes will make it next too useless on the boat for most of our season when traveling.

As a live board cruiser circum navigating the globe there’s no way we can return to homeport every 30 days. Satellite Internet service has been a real blessing.

We live full time on our yacht and travel a lot between countries. Additionally we use starlink to home school our children. Having this new restriction is a real dumper to our lifestyle
