As a full-time liveaboard Starlink is essential for us to receive weather updates, maintain contact with the homefront and our safety in general. The new Global priority plan is simply too expensive for us and we would sadly have to revert to “last century” communications should Starlink impose this tariff on us full time cruisers.

A full time sailing lifestyle where moving around is very slow so cannot return home. Important for safety, communication with family and anuthorities, and weather updates. The ocean mode toggle was great on Unlimited roam plan. The new rates are beyond my budget, coupled with a low data limit. We will be stopping using Starlink and use other means on land. Will feel blind crossing oceans without weather updates, and cannot send arrival notification emails and paperwork to the next country.
