An iconic venue which was a cornerstone of an historically rich neighborhood, The Bottom Line deserves official designation as a Greenwich Village landmark. For nearly 30 years, this iconic venue did far more than showcase incredible musicians—it left an indelible imprint on the arts, culture, and enduring legacy of New York City.

I spent the 1990-2003 at the Bottom Line. Awesome shows, available munchies, easy access to musicians after the gig, and great lineups. Alan always let me in when I was short on cash & I was not covering a show. Loved the Glen Burtnick Christmas Shows, especially when pj's where the thing to wear.

The Bottom Line was a NYC institution for 30 years and the site of countless historic performances. It needs to be honored and recognized and not forgotten. Plus I took my wife on our first date there!

The Bottom Line was a very big part of my life. I counted 15 different shows I performed in at the club, not to mention the lifelong friendships made along the way. It was more than a club, it was a community, and it greatly deserves the honor.

In its time The Bottom Line helped to transform and revitalize a dying, unsafe neighborhood. Restaurants came in, music fans came calling. Other mom and pop businesses benefited as did of us. The neighborhood and surrounding areas of Manhattan owe a debt of gratitude to The Bottom Line and to Allan Pepper and Stanley Snadowsky.
