All of the above statements are so eloquently written, factual, and stating the obvious what must be done to protect what little wetlands we have left.
This requires no monetary, budgeting, it requires you as a decision-maker to uphold our stewardship of this area and stop what is unstoppable.
There are so many things wrong with this, and problems that will be created just so the roof can build more homes and make more money.
There is no need in any shape form or fashion for this to happen.

There is no limit to Carlos Beruff's hubris nor destructiveness. He has no respect for the natural world or the common good. This application far exceeds anything he has tried in the past at Long Bar Pointe. Thank goodness this goes to the ACOE, which still has a sense of the value of the natural world, and not DEP, which does not.

Carlos doesn’t care about Sarasota or Manatee County all he cares about is lining his pocket at the expense of the citizens of the county. I don’t know if anybody is aware but he got on the board for the airport to have the air traffic changed so it would no longer go over Aqua on the Bay. Also, I spent a lot of time and that body of water and around that area and I can absolutely without a doubt. Tell you how important that area is to the ecosystem health of Sarasota Bay.

As someone who was born and raised in Bayshore Gardens, I am profoundly sad our county commissioners even allowed the permit for Aqua to begin with. It is unconscionable they would now allow further destruction of the last pristine coastline on Sarasota Bay.

If this seawall gets build it will destroy the mangroves and increase the flood risk for the existing homes both north and south of the seawall. Say NO to the seawall!
