Wetlands and mangroves are critical to the coastal environment and keep us safe!! Do not destroy them, once it’s done, it cannot be undone. Act NOW to forever protect them!!

As a PhD estuarine ecologist, local resident who has visited the site for scientific evaluation, I urge you to protect this last-existing stand of unaltered, large stand of mature mangroves. This stand is extremely important to the ecology of Sarasota Bay. Protection of adjacent wetlands is essential to maintaining the structure and function of the mangroves. The USACOE, has a policy of not permitting destruction or damage to to wetlands and mangro es unless it is totally unavoidable.

Residents were against Aqua By The Bay from the beginning. Save our coast. Old Florida and our wildlife and sealife are quickly disappearing .

I live nearby and have seen the devastation that all the new developments have brought. We need our mangroves not more invasive developments here!

As a Manatee County native and former environmental teacher, I understand the devastation that this will cause. The natural protection that mangroves and everything that depends on them provides during a storm cannot be underestimated.

The nature is being taken away in Florida. This is impacting humans, wildlife, and the natural land. The developing needs to stop taking the natural land and start thinking about the future of Florida and the people who live here. Stop adding more structures and more people.

Please do not destroy the mangroves that provide habitat and protect our coastline!

The Corps should not approve a permit that eliminates wetlands and removes or compromises natural buffers when less damaging alternatives may be available. I'm also concerned indirect, secondary and cumulative effects on the entire connected wetland-estuarine system could impact the commercial fishing operation in Cortez.

I've fished Sarasota Bay for 40 years and know the importance of this habitat. We need a ground swell of public opposition to this dangerous and greedy power grab.

We must keep the mangroves safe for nesting areas for fish and what eneryone comes to Florida for. These areas must not be destroyed Thank you for your time in this matter

Stop ruining our water. Mangroves protect sea life. It’s a nursery. But I know, people with lots of money get what they want. .
