Many people worked hard to protect the last of our waterfront wetlands As a resident for 26 years I've seen what the massive development of Manatee county has done- devastate bird populations, erode flood control and estuaries & bring gridlock to roads. We used to see dolphins and manatee but the continued shoreline development has eroded the habitats needed for sealife to survive or thrive. Don't allow what was so hard fought to protect be destroyed by big money.

The project’s full cumulative impacts have not been adequately reviewed. If permitted as requested, this development could set a dangerous precedent for replacing natural wetland buffers with walls and fill. A development of this size should not proceed while significant questions remain about sea-level rise, mangrove migration and adaptation, stormwater runoff, flooding, wildlife habitat, water quality, and archaeological resources. These are not minor details. They impact entire communities.

We live near the proposed development and fear further destruction of mangroves and wetlands buffer that protect our homes. Also, further development of another 2500 homes will further stress our already strained infrastructure, resources, traffic congestion, etc.
