I live just north and west of this development and Tidy Island. Once the damage this wall will do to this pristine fishery is allowed there can be no repair, mitigation or replacement. Once lost we can't get it back!

We must protect our shoreline. These mangroves are the last defense for preventing storm surge from tropical storms.

Destroy more wetland is unacceptable.

This buffer is zoned as such for good reasons: to protect the structures there, to protect the wetlands within the buffer, and to protect Sarasota Bay from pollution. Do not grant a variance to this zoning because this property has always been properly so zoned, and the owners have no expectation that it would be otherwise.

This is absolutely ridiculous. Packing boards and committees for self gain over the citizens with such blatant deceit needs to be stopped and stopped now. Deny this and end it permanently.

This is simply outrageous. It must be denied. Mangroves protect property behind them, seawalls do not.

I do not want to see anymore of our precious wetlands destroyed by developers not giving a damn...We need these wetlands to protect our shores...backoff!

New seawalls should no longer be permitted in estuaries, wetlands, or bays of west coast Florida. Have we learned nothing from our past mistakes or from the marine sciences?

We must Save the Wetlands of Manatee and Sarasota Counties because our lives and the lives of the marine ecosystems depend on it. All life on God's Earth is born of the oceans, and the oceans are born of the wetlands.

Manatee County is a special place, less developed and more authentically Florida than so many other coastal counties. Please help preserve it for current and future citizens.

Allowing the developers to do whatever they want with no regards to the environment has got to stop. They’ve already come to within an inch of other mangroves as well as state parks. What’s next? Build housing on floats in the water, build tree houses, build wherever they want and the people and especially nature take the hit. There has to be a line drawn in the sand!

All of the above statements are so eloquently written, factual, and stating the obvious what must be done to protect what little wetlands we have left.
This requires no monetary, budgeting, it requires you as a decision-maker to uphold our stewardship of this area and stop what is unstoppable.
There are so many things wrong with this, and problems that will be created just so the roof can build more homes and make more money.
There is no need in any shape form or fashion for this to happen.

We must protect the dwindling natural resources before they have all vanished.
