Because the mangrove is a natural protection for the mainland and the homes surrounding the area during hurricanes, and to destroy it also destroys the natural ecosystem.

Carlos Beruff tried something similar back in 2013 and it was rejected for sound reasons as it should be again. He is likely hoping that a new breed of politicians and bureaucrats will cave to his persuasion. This application must be denied.

We are VERY close to this proposed barrier WALL and will be very adversely affected by this type of installation. Use the new ones (hexagon shape) already being installed in Miami and Palm Beach area, Florida. Thank you.

Because my husband and I have lived in Cortez for 50 years now and I have been part of this since 2004 when I was a County Commissioner representing District #3! Over the past 22 years every time we turn around Carlos is making changes that only hurt our bay. Our Mangrove and estuarine habitat are crucial to Cortez Village's way of life!

Stop killing the wetlands, they're fragile enough as it is. Doesnt it also protect everyone? getting rid of it sounds stupid.

The protection of the fragile ecosystem along Sarasota Bay including an uninterrupted mangrove shorelines is very important. The proposed SeaSpray/Aqua wall will create a dangerous environment for residents, especially during hurricanes.

I've lived on Sarasota Bay for 12 years and have come to understand how fragile it is and the essential role that wetlands, especially mangroves, play in its viability. The proposed build out is severely lacking in its consideration of the short and long-term viability of the bay and its environs.

Someone needs to put the brakes on these developers who continually destroy Florida, make millions in profits, and then walk away leaving taxpayers to deal with the mess they created. First priority is to start voting out all the politicians who allow this to happen.
