As a Florida Master Naturalist for coastal systems and certified living shoreline expert. Harden seawalls life is only 25-30 years living shorelines better protect and contain erosion than hardscaped in addition with the high wave activity on the bay a living shoreline continues to buffer correctly instead of moving the forces out down the wall eroding other properties. Flooding is contained correctly. Seawalls do not.

Wetlands must be protected by law. Tired of developers continuously getting their way by paying off commissioners. Nobody can prove that the ramifications will not negatively affect the surrounding areas if this wall is allowed to be constructed.

I am a born native of Sarasota and have seen the downfall of the beautiful natural habitat be destroyed by overdevelopment and loose protective policies of natural wetlands. We cannot get back what we pave over. Our coast is a huge estuary. Stop this nonsense!

As someone who has been fishing Long Bar for 25 years, a father who hopes to share his love for Sarasota Bay and a local fishing guide in Sarasota the ecosystem around long bar is a vital piece to the puzzle that is keeping Sarasota bay a afloat.
As we continue to remove the natural ecosystem for wildlife for development the bay suffers. This is one of our last remaining wild shorlines.
