If we, as a community, allow Carlos Beruff to destroy our natural coastline for his personal greed we will never get that vital environment and its protections back.

Wetlands are a part of an ecosystem. By destroying them, you're killing of ecosystems that are important to wildlife. Developers need to be stopped. They've taken too much land already.

I came here in 1978 and am sick and tired of what these developers have done to our county. Also tired of our county commishners who have been bought by these developers!

Protecting precious natural wetland buffers is important to retain the natural beauty of our native habitats. Whenever developers like this are told “no” by the community, they simply look for new ways to maneuver until they get what they want. Unchecked power and greed is a cancer of the soul, and the vanishing wetlands and natural habitats become the visible expression of the ravages of that cancer.

Enough is enough. We need to preserve our beautiful wetlands, they are so integral to fortifying our coastlines but these developers only see dollar signs. Stand up for Florida ecosystems!

I am a long term resident of Manatee County and have watched as our wetlands have been destroyed. This has to stop. The few wetlands that are left are the natural breeding and habitat for the Sarasota Bay ecosystem.
