Beruff has gotten away with ruining too much of the Sarasota Bay waterways already. The local commissioners and all the folks that have allowed him to do so are as much to blame as his destruction of the county's land and waters. Show them we mean what we say by voting them out this election. They are as much of the problem as the developers!

The destruction of wetlands by developers along coastal Florida is irreversible. The ecological impact on plant and animal biodiversity is incalculable. Once disrupted, it cannot be reclaimed. It needs to be halted. Over development is ruining the beautiful coast that drew so many of us to settle here and the visitors who marvel at the lovely area.

The wetlands are a buffer against storm surge and hundreds of millions of dollars in property damage, and that's not to mention all of the varieties of creatures that use that as their habitat.

I have seen land in Bradenton in the last 8 years change from cow pastures to multi level building.
Seen flooding where the cow pastures protected the land from flooding.
When will the commission
Who are responsible for making zoning changes and allowing building on wetlands.

I'm by no means a "tree-hugger," but anyone who lives in Florida has to realize that wetlands are our first line of defense when storms hit our coastline. Allowing wetlands to be compromised for monetary gain when there are plenty of inland areas to develop is unconscionable! PLEASE, protect our communities by protecting our wetlands!!

What’s left of wetlands and all other natural areas needs to be preserved and protected. A limit must be set now and enforced, or soon nothing will be left. The destruction is real and has real negative consequences.
