Grade 8 should be by it self because will prepare them better when they go to college or university.

It’s not a good idea to have children in split classes. It’s not good for children or the teachers. We live in XXI century it should not be allowed. My kids were in split classes and was gifted so teacher complained that he responded to questions for his grade and the older grade and she didn’t like it. Another had IEP and he was not learning properly in his classroom. Not a good idea especially for grade 8.

30+ students to 1 teacher is not fair to anyone.

With my son entering Grade 7, I am focused on ensuring he has an environment that encourages meaningful participation and active learning. I fear that a class of 33 students, particularly in a combined 7/8 setting will necessitate a more passive, lecture-based approach to accommodate the sheer volume of students. I am advocating for a smaller class size to ensure my son has the opportunity to ask questions, receive timely feedback, and receive the mentorship required to build the 7’s up.

Why is this specific class the one that has to pay?...again. This level is far too important to lose another year.

I see the impact the current class size has had on my child and can't imagine him having to go through this another year.

That is way too high. For a teacher to be effective in class it won’t work. Some of those students have attention deficit disorder or problems. Another teacher representative should be there to help out.

I've personally been in over crowded class rooms in subjects that I was doing really good in. Then to see my grades drop from 90s to high 60s. We live in a country that ranks number 1 in the world for having the highest % of adults with a post-secondary qualification. If we want our kids to succeed in the future then we need them to learn properly in elementary school.

There are significant behavioural and learning challenges within this group. The 5/6 class that was this size this year was a disaster that resulted in the teacher requiring a much deserved stress leave and annimpossible learning environment.

I definitely agree with this request. All of our children deserve the best education possible and an extra large split class in the intermediate level will not provide an ideal learning environment for these students.
