Does nobody care about kids anymore? This does not protect the kids. Why are we isolating the 4th and 5th graders from the little kids? Just build another school to fix the space issues. It can’t be that expensive.

K-5 is best for our children. The increases in population related to high density housing are not temporary but permanent. We need a permanent solution that puts kids’ wellbeing’s first.

Instead of 4 schools for K-3 there will be 3. The Covid area kids already got unlucky with the Warren preschool change (reducing preschool classes so many kids didn’t get in to the public preschool). I don’t want class sizes for K-3 to become larger. I don’t want my child’s education to be further compromised.

We moved to our area for a reason and that reason is the elementary school- having my child move for his 5th grade year seems ridiculous when he has to make the same change a year later. It will be as if middle school for these students starts at 4th grade, and I am not on board with that- we would consider making a move to another town if that’s the case.

Parts of King George Road are still in need of repair. This should be a priority.

I am signing this to not increase taxes. We need a senior center not another school. Keep things as they are. It is very clear that this will push us seniors out of the very place we call home. No one has thought of us.

Would like to preserve existing system only and only if it will not result in increased class sizes! Keep the classrooms under 20 kids please; address the actual problem of overbuilding and overdevelopment. That’s the issue at hand. We are a small town that cannot handle overpopulation and overcrowding, we don’t have infrastructure in place neither the roads to manage the traffic. Schools should not suffer neither are the kids.

While we recognize that changes need to be made due to the growing population, it feels like punting the problem down the road and a temporary solution to a larger challenge. In this case it seems the cons outweigh the pros. Transportation also seems like it would be a larger obstacle with more staggered school starts for families with small children. The K-5 model allows younger siblings to attend their older siblings special events and vice versa.

I am signing this petition because having both of my children attend the same school is extremely beneficial for our family. When one of my children attended preschool at Mt. Horeb while the other was at a different school, managing two separate drop-offs was challenging and time-consuming. I was relieved when both of my children were finally in the same school. Having them together also made it much easier to keep up with school events activities and after school clubs.
