I tried to learn English for a few years so that I could take the PTE exam and even bought a voucher so that I could immigrate to Australia and expand my career there. But with a political decision that we ordinary people have no say in, all the dreams and goals and the time and money we spent on this decision for many years were destroyed overnight.

Removing the PTE option for Iranians could have a deeply negative impact on the future of many young people, especially at a time when they are already facing extremely difficult circumstances. Taking away an important pathway for study, migration and future opportunities would be unfair and could significantly limit the choices available to an entire community. I strongly believe Iranian applicants should be given the same fair opportunities as everyone else.

The people of Iran are separate from the Iranian government, and this decision will prevent many Iranians who are interested in better job and career opportunities, and who could become valuable and productive members of your country, from having access to those opportunities
