Why would you even question a student mental well being by denying his right for therapy…

Although I’m not aware of the specific details surrounding this issue, I have witnessed firsthand the positive impact of consistency and continuity on the growth and well-being of children in our schools. This is especially true for those with special needs. When comfort and trust have already been established, professionals can seamlessly build upon previous knowledge and experience.

Ms. Desombre is so important to Mahopac Academy, she is an ultimate professional understanding all aspects of the children at the school. When my wife and I first met her we were immediately impressed with her knowledge of the difficulties some kids experience in more traditional schools. Ms. Desombre is a gem and more importantly she is loved by the kids. My grandson Dylan always talks to her and tells us about how nice she is and that is not the easiest thing for Dylan to do.

Speaking as a parent/community member- I couldn’t agree more with keeping the current psychologist where she is. Our children should be at the forefront of decisions being made at all times. She is the pillar of the this program and many students are successful due to her support and passion.

There are many children that need help. They should be provided with this help!
We pay plenty in taxes! Please DO NOT deprive them!

Falls Academy is a truly exceptional program, and Mrs. Desombre has played a central role in creating the stability, trust, and sense of belonging that so many students and families rely upon. In speaking with other parents, it is clear that while the teachers are highly valued, Mrs. Desombre serves as the connective tissue of the program, supporting students, partnering with families, and helping ensure that each child receives the consistency they need to thrive.

Being a teacher it is very advisable to have a in school psychologist that can help manage to children’s emotions. Most teachers are not equipped with these tools for nervous system regulation, or even knowing how to be trauma informed.

Ashley is the heart of the program if she is removed it will fall apart and the children including my grandson will be unjustly impacted.
