Mr. Rullan is a great principal, Maxwell is a difficult school to administer over. It has been a troubled school for many years however under Mr. Rullan's leadership I have seen changes within the school and how actions have consequences. Please don't remove him after 1 year when he is just getting started.

Principal Rullan has done so much for his students. From laundry cards to food panty to hygiene kits. Trips to London and Paris. He’s an amazing principal.

I have nothing but respect for that man; he made the school feel like a safe zone and a home. From the moment he started working there, he has been someone who commands respect through his kindness. Words cannot fully describe the respect and affection I feel for him, and I want future generations to experience the presence of someone who truly cares about them, just as he did for us.

Mr Rullan , has been nothing but great to us in our past few years, As a 2026 graduate I know we acted out in the beginning, but he made sure he enforced on those disciplinary actions. He’s the man that shaped the class of 2026 , into the strong, independent, thoughtful young men and ladies we are now. He did events not bc he had to but because he knows we would have a blast, he paid for stuff we were out of money or didn’t have any , when he didn’t have to

Mr Rullan is an amazing principal, one of the best out there. He walked into Maxwell with us class of 2026 and gave us the best 4 years of our life. Mr Rullan changed Maxwell for the best, he introduced many many programs for us . He deserves to stay at Maxwell and keep his position. He’s a great principal and does not deserve to be fired.

I’m signing this petition because there was times when I felt like I wasn’t going to be able to make it in this school ,and times when people wanted to come at me and at those times Mr.Rulan had stepped in and went out of his way to make sure I stayed in this school and graduated from here,there was a point in time when I was at risk of having to switch school and he made sure I didn’t have to and ensured my safety,he made me feel welcomed and actually gave me a reason to look forward to school.

As the Title I Chair and former Vice President of the Maxwell High School Parent Association, I strongly oppose the removal of Principal John Rullan. Under his leadership, Maxwell’s graduation rate rose to 86.1%, enrollment increased, and our CTE programs expanded clear evidence of progress. Our school community deserves transparency, and I urge the DOE to reconsider this decision.
