As a muslim i agree in wearing colors of hijabs who reflect who you are, hijabs arent supposed to be one color and boring their supposed to be exciting and colorful and show around other people of religion that we can express ourselves too.

As a hijab, this violates my rights and it feels very restrictive when kids are allowed to color their hair but I am not allowed to wear the hijab color I want. If rules like this are suppose to be made they should be fair to everyone.

respectfully ask that Muslim girls be allowed to choose the color of their hijab. As long as they are wearing the required school uniform and their hijab is modest and appropriate, I don’t believe they should be forced to wear a specific color. This is important to me because it is a religious right protected under the first amendment for Muslim woman to wear the hijab. The fact that you have to wear a certain colors is unfair because that means parents would have to go by their kids new colors which is not cheap compared to regular school uniform clothing and on top of that things like any color tights are allowed, but any color hijab isn’t; thats contradictive. If you’re gonna apply a rule to a specific minority group, apply to all.

I don’t think ESUMS staff should be able to tell students what color hijabs they can and cannot wear. That is very unfair, Muslim girls should have the freedom to express themselves just as any girl who dyes their hair does. There’s nobody in a class that would be distracted by a hijab. The last time I checked, specific hijab colors were not in the ESUMS handbook. It wasn’t stated in orientation either. Therefore, it isn’t official. Even if it were official, they have no right to do that.
