I don’t think ESUMS staff should be able to tell students what color hijabs they can and cannot wear. That is very unfair, Muslim girls should have the freedom to express themselves just as any girl who dyes their hair does. There’s nobody in a class that would be distracted by a hijab. The last time I checked, specific hijab colors were not in the ESUMS handbook. It wasn’t stated in orientation either. Therefore, it isn’t official. Even if it were official, they have no right to do that.

I think following the dress code should be enough. Hijab colors clearly aren’t a distraction towards anyone, and it seems incredibly disrespectful towards Muslims by restricting them from expressing their religion in a way that isn’t affecting anyone.
