We as the PMC, the undersigned residents of De Doorns and surrounding areas, call for the urgent establishment of permanent SASSA and Home Affairs offices in our community.

At present, people must travel long distances to access essential services such as ID applications, birth and death registrations, passports, social documentation, and SASSA support. For many households, this means extra transport costs, long waiting times, and lost time that could be spent working, studying, or caring for family. It also makes it harder for older people, young people, and those without reliable transport to get the help they need.

A permanent office in De Doorns would bring real relief. It would make government services easier to reach, reduce unnecessary travel, and help residents handle important documents and support more quickly and with dignity. It would also strengthen the sense that our community is seen and included, not left to struggle for basic access.

We believe that people in De Doorns deserve fair, convenient, and consistent access to both SASSA and Home Affairs services. These are not luxuries. They are basic services that affect daily life, family stability, and community wellbeing.

We therefore petition the Department of Home Affairs and SASSA to prioritize and implement permanent offices in De Doorns without delay.

Our community urgently needs a permanent SASSA office. Many of our residents, especially the elderly, people with disabilities, and grant beneficiaries, have to wait for the two days each week that SASSA officials are available in De Doorns, which often results in long queues and delays. A permanent SASSA office in our community would improve access to essential services, reduce travel costs to Worcester and waiting times.

Because our people are struggling and sometimes you must go three or four times there by Sassa and some of our people work only 6 months on the farm so at this moment most of the people is at home
