South African Social Security Agency (SASSA)
We call on SASSA to come back to Kriel and once again assist people at the community hall. Right now, SASSA no longer comes, and many people in our area are left with no easy way to get help with their grants and related services.
For many of us, travelling to a nearby town is not simple. We have to pay for taxis or find a way to drive there, and that costs money we do not have. When people are already struggling, the extra expense of commuting makes it even harder to sort out grant matters on time. This creates stress, delays, and more hardship for families and vulnerable people in the community.
Kriel needs a local SASSA service point that people can reach without spending so much on transport. Bringing SASSA back to the community hall would make it easier for residents to get assistance close to home, save money, and avoid unnecessary travel. It would show real care for the people who depend on these services most.
We ask SASSA to restore its presence in Kriel and make sure the community hall is once again a place where people can come for help. Our community should not be left to carry the cost and burden of travelling far just to access basic support.

Most of the people are not having enough money to travel to nearest offices. Once they arrive we find long ques.
Witbank and Bethal it’s far cause when you get by the office you find it full or closed and end up not being assisted and it’s very expensive.
it is Important to me because when sassa is here on kriel is easy to get there you don’t have to worry about transportation early in the morning
There are unemployed communities members who cannot afford to travel to Witbank for SASSA services but depend on the grants to survive
So that it can be easy for us to have access to sassa offices
We need sassa cause the other town like witbank and bethal they can't assist us last time I went there and come back without any assistance
