We are in a critical need for a fire station in North SLO County. The current response time is well over 35 minutes. There are several elderly retirees here that are unable to get to the hospital in case of an emergency.

This full time staffed firehouse has been a long time talking about, it’s past time to make it a reality for the safety of our loved ones as well as our homes.

The greatest improvement would be having emergency medical services and fire support as needed. The community is at risk on a daily basis due to the distance and availability of other services. It’s really completely unsafe and alarming that is allowed, based on the fact, that we all pay taxes that cover these safety measures.

With fire being such a threat to an area like oak shores, it’s become imperative that emergency fire services are close at hand. Many tax paying folks in the area have much to lose should insurance companies flinch if a fire gets out of control. Situations like the palisades and paradise can and should be avoided! Don’t wait for disaster to strike. Part of being good leaders is looking forward to any potential catastrophe… and preparing for it! The next natural and logical step is to prepare.

A staffed staion is far overdue. The community and surrounding areas continue to grow and require better emergency response.

All summer I scan the sky for smoke and sniff the air for the smell of smoke. Stressful to have to live always worried about fires. Now fire season starts earlier and lasts longer. If Oak Shores had a Fire Station I would feel much safer.

In the event of an emergency, time is absolutely critical. The sooner a patient receives pre-hospital care. The chances of a successful recovery increase.
Keep our community safe
